For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. Proverbs 1:32
How often has it been illustrated that “the prosperity of fools shall destroy them”? The same is true for foolish Christians who spend time and effort to obtain training on how to build wealth to the exclusion of Biblical counsel on how to use wealth. The Christian must heed God’s instructions on the use of the time and treasure God has apportioned to him and ensure he is not destroyed in his usefulness for God by his “trust in uncertain riches.”
Please rejoice with us as we acknowledge the exciting work of God through the ministry of Eternal Vision.
Praise
The following are a few of God's abundant blessings toward us:
-
Our Christian school endowment program is beginning to have a tremendous impact. We recently conducted our Eternal Vision Sunday program at Calvary Baptist Church in Findlay, Ohio and at Calvary Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama. The response to the Biblical stewardship teaching and the endowment opportunity has been outstanding! We rejoice to have upcoming Eternal Vision Sundays scheduled for the following ministries:
- Seaford, DE – October 21, 2007
- Muncie, IN – October 28, 2007
- Watertown, WI – January 20, 2008
-
Dr. Mike Duffy and Attorney Matt Davis both presented workshops at the Great Lakes Educators Conference at the end of September. The opportunity gave wonderful exposure to the ministry of Eternal Vision and certainly solidified the need for the financial solutions our ministry has the potential to bring.
-
Dr. Duffy presented our Treasure Builders program for senior saints at Faith Baptist Church in Chetek, Wisconsin and several additional dates are scheduled for November. Matt Davis’ session at the Wisconsin Fellowship of Baptist Churches generated several additional meeting requests we look forward to conducting before the end of this year.
-
The Eternal Vision Board of Directors met September 20 for its annual meeting. We thank God for the blessing of wise counsel from men of God with a sincere passion for the ministry!
-
Our new Strategic Partner initiative has been a great blessing as several have responded with a desire to provide some of the financial assistance we need to operate. As partners in the ministry, we can claim with the Apostle Paul, that we “desire fruit that may abound to your account!”
-
Dr. Mike Duffy met recently with leaders from six ministries in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area for a round-table discussion of the Eternal Vision endowment building program. As we build our prospect list for Christian schools to begin working with in 2008, the unanimously positive responses we have received from this meeting thus far indicate a strong leading to concentrate our ministry efforts in this geographic area.
Prayer
Please pray with us. The following are specific areas of personal prayer request:
-
For monthly income of $7,000 through the end of 2007 to meet personnel needs. We need to raise a minimum of $240,000 for each of the next two years to facilitate our start-up. We have been blessed with several Strategic Partner commitments to help meet the need, but more are needed.
- Upcoming Eternal Vision Sunday and Treasure Builders dates.
- Our ability to wisely handle the potentially overwhelming response as we work individually with Christians responding to our stewardship training sessions and desiring help with Biblical stewardship planning.
