Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? - Psalm 85:6
I am beginning to understand that the ministry of Eternal Vision is poised to have a major impact on the Christian school movement in America. In fact, I believe God will bring a revival in Christian education that will be characterized first by the return of conviction-building preaching about Christian education from church pulpits, followed by a greater commitment to Christ-centered education by Christians and ministry leaders, and a re-positioning of financial resources by God’s people as ministry partners to accomplish the task.
I know that our
ministry of preaching and teaching Biblical stewardship is confronting one of
the major hindrances to revival in America: materialism. As a nation, we
have been blessed with financial prosperity-perhaps even enough to see the
Great Commission fulfilled in our lifetime.
And yet the wealth enjoyed by God's people is not currently positioned
to accomplish the task. In many churches
we have become like the lukewarm church in Laodicea,
"Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with
goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and
miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:"
-Revelation 3:17
God's people must be challenged to use the
abundant blessings of God in the same manner the Lord counseled the Laodicean
believers:
"I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire,
that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed,
and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with
eyesalve, that thou mayest see." -Revelation
3:18
I can already testify
of those who through our ministry have been challenged, and then realized the
great joy of seeing God work in this area of their life!
As our
ministry surges forward in helping churches, Christian schools, and individual
Christians, we know that we cannot accomplish this task without the Lord's
divine assistance. As a friend of our
ministry, will you pray for us and the ministries we have the privilege to help? We thank God for the answers to prayer He has
provided even this month: for excellent
meetings in Delaware,
Alabama,
Indiana,
and Wisconsin where we are working to
establish Christian Education Vision
Endowments. We look forward in
December to meeting with two new candidate schools to conduct Leadership Meetings in Rockford
and Chicago, Illinois. I also thank God for allowing me to meet with
dozens of school leaders at the Great
Lakes Educators Conference last month, and the Illinois Association of Christian Schools' Administrators' Meeting
this week. These have encouraged me that
God is actively working and have prompted several new candidate school
inquiries!
On a
personal note, thank you for praying for my recent eye surgery. While the experience has been difficult, I
thank God for a good report from the doctors so far and a promising prognosis
for a full recovery.
As
we thank God for His blessing of churches and schools to work with and the
encouragement they bring, we are reminded of the expense involved in operating
a ministry like Eternal Vision. I know you will pray sincerely about what
end-of-year gift God may lay upon your heart to help our ministry effort. Thank you again for your friendship to
Eternal Vision.
